Raise Brand Awareness: Businesses sponsor events and non-profits because it puts their brand in the spotlight for the good you are doing. It creates positive public relations and raises a positive awareness of the organization as a whole and enhances brand credibility.
Emotional Connection: People often spend with their heart. Making an emotional connection to purchases builds brand loyalty. Seeing your brand connected to nonprofits drive this connection for consumers. Quite simply, it shows your brand cares enough to get involved at the community level. Your brand becomes more appealing than your competition.
Media Exposure: Many nonprofit organizations do what they can to drive media to their events. The benefit, of course, is the free ‘earned media’ exposure your brand could potentially receive.

"I just received the attached pictures from my buddy who is commanding in Afghanistan and received a bunch of packages from the United for the Troops . I spoke with him over the weekend and the packages arrived just in time as his platoons were spread throughout the south east and were running low on care package goodies.
